Water Creation Hugo 72 in. double sink bathroom vanity with two sinks and two mirrors

Double Vanity Sizes & Dimensions: 48" to 84" Explained

The short answer: most double vanities come in 60, 72 or 84 inches wide. A 60 in. double is the smallest size that gives two sinks the spacing most bathroom designers recommend; 48 in. doubles exist, but the sinks sit close together. A standard double vanity is about 21 to 22 in. deep and about 34 in. tall, and slim models are 18 1/2 to 20 in. deep.

Every size in this guide comes from our own product listings, read on October 21, 2026: 407 double-sink vanities from 9 brands. Exact sizes vary by model, so always check the product page and spec sheet before you order.

Double vanity widths at a glance

Width Models we carry Brands Space between sink centers*
48 in. 14 Kube Bath, Moreno Bath about 24 in.
60 in. 184 all 9 brands about 30 in.
72 in. 135 all 9 brands about 36 in.
80 in. 6 Kube Bath, Lexora about 40 in.
84 in. 62 Vinnova, Moreno Bath, Laviva, Ancerre Designs, Lexora about 42 in.
96 to 120 in. 6 Vinnova (Santarem combined vanities) wider

*If each sink sits in the middle of its half of the vanity, the space between the two sink centers is half the vanity's width. Some models place the sinks differently, so check the spec sheet.

Width is the nominal size. The actual cabinet often runs a little under: our "48 in." doubles measure 47 1/4 to 48 in., and our "60 in." doubles about 58 1/2 to 60 in.

Depth: standard or slim

  • Standard depth: 236 of the 355 double vanities that list a depth are 21 to 22 1/2 in. deep.
  • Slim depth: 106 are under 20 in. deep, from Kube Bath, Laviva, Moreno Bath and Vinnova. The shallowest are the Kube Bath DeLusso doubles at 18 1/2 in.

A slim vanity leaves more walking room in a narrow bathroom. The trade-off is less counter space around the two sinks.

Height: floor-standing or wall-mounted

  • Floor-standing: 237 of the 238 floor-standing doubles that list a height are 33 to 36 5/8 in. tall, and most are about 34 in.
  • Wall-mounted (floating): 144 of the 407 hang on the wall. Their listed height is the cabinet only (about 14 to 25 in.), so the counter height is set when the vanity is hung. Plan it with your installer so the drains and water lines line up.

Spacing and room clearance two sinks need

These are design guidelines, not product facts (NKBA bathroom planning guidelines; your local code may differ):

  • Between the two sinks: at least 30 in. from the center of one sink to the center of the other, and 36 in. is more comfortable. That is why a 60 in. double is the usual starting point, and a 72 in. double gives two people real elbow room.
  • To a side wall: at least 15 in. from the center of a sink to a side wall or tall cabinet, and 20 in. is more comfortable.
  • In front: at least 21 in. of open floor in front of the vanity, and about 30 in. is more comfortable.

How to measure for a double vanity

  1. Width: measure the wall from side to side at counter height. Leave room for door trim, and for the space a toilet needs beside it.
  2. Depth: measure from the back wall to anything in front of it, such as a door swing or the front of the toilet, and keep the open floor from the list above.
  3. Plumbing: a double vanity needs a drain and water lines for two sinks. If you are replacing a single vanity, plan for a plumber.
  4. Wall-mounted: the wall needs solid backing to carry the vanity and its top.
  5. Delivery: many double vanities ship by freight on a pallet. Measure your doorways and hallways for the box.
