A jetted tub for two sounds simple until you start shopping: whirlpool or air jets, corner or rectangular, and prices that run from about $1,200 to $4,000 for what look like similar tubs. We went through the 174 two-person-size jetted tubs we carry from Atlantis Whirlpool, every 60" x 60" corner tub and every rectangular or oval tub at least 42" wide, to show what the jet type and shape actually change.
Regular prices. Atlantis tubs are often on promotion, so check the product page for today's price.
| Whirlpool | Air | Air + whirlpool | |
|---|---|---|---|
| How it works | A pump pushes bath water through adjustable jets | A blower pushes warm air through many small holes in the floor of the tub | Both systems, run separately or together |
| Feel | Strong, targeted massage on the back and legs | Gentle, all-over bubbling | Targeted massage plus all-over bubbles |
| Cleaning | Water sits in the pipes, so run a cleaning cycle regularly | Air lines purge themselves after each bath | Clean the whirlpool side as you would a whirlpool |
| Bath oils and salts | Avoid them, they can clog the jets | Generally fine | Use them only with the air system |
| Regular price, two-person size | $1,199 - $2,399 | $1,299 - $2,799 | $1,599 - $3,999 |
60" x 60" corner tubs are the classic two-person jetted tub: the triangle shape gives two people room to sit facing each other, and it tucks into a corner rather than taking a whole wall. We carry 40, from the Sublime whirlpool at $1,199 to the Eclipse air and whirlpool combo at $2,999.
Rectangular tubs 42" wide and up are drop-in tubs, set into a deck built around them (see our bathtub sizes chart), and they let two people sit end to end. The widest options, such as the 48" x 72" Charleston whirlpool at $1,399 or the 54" x 72" Caresse, feel noticeably roomier than a 42" tub. Lengths run from 60" to 84", and oval models (42" x 70" and 44" x 78") give a softer shape for a drop-in platform.
