A jetted tub for two sounds simple until you start shopping: whirlpool or air jets, corner or rectangular, and prices that run from about $1,200 to $4,000 for what look like similar tubs. We went through the 93 two-person-size jetted tubs we carry from Atlantis Whirlpool, every 60" x 60" corner tub and every rectangular or oval tub at least 42" wide, to show what the jet type and shape actually change.
The short answer

Corner or rectangular for two?
60" x 60" corner tubs are the classic two-person jetted tub: the triangle shape gives two people room to sit facing each other, and it tucks into a corner rather than taking a whole wall. We carry 11, from the Sublime whirlpool at $1,199 to the Eclipse air and whirlpool combo at $2,199.
Rectangular tubs 42" wide and up fit a standard alcove or a drop-in deck and let two people sit end to end. The widest options, such as the 48" x 72" Charleston whirlpool at $1,399 or the 54" x 72" Caresse, feel noticeably roomier than a 42" tub. Lengths run from 60" to 84", and oval models (42" x 70" and 44" x 78") give a softer shape for a drop-in platform.
What to check before you buy
- Electrical: jetted tubs need their own electrical supply, usually a dedicated GFCI-protected circuit, and more if the tub has an in-line heater. Check the spec sheet and plan it with your electrician.
- Access to the motor: the pump or blower needs a service access panel, so plan the tub deck or apron with a removable section.
- Hot water: a tub for two holds a lot of water. Make sure your water heater can fill it, or look at a model with an in-line heater that keeps the water warm once it's full.
- Floor support: a filled two-person tub with two people in it is heavy, which matters most on an upper floor.
- Lead time: Atlantis tubs are made to order and typically ship in 2 to 3 weeks.
