Round and elongated toilet seats in plastic or enameled wood. Many are white, and others come in colors such as biscuit, bone, black, fawn beige, ice grey and regency blue; the title names the color. Most are closed front seats with a cover, and the open front seats are mostly Bemis commercial models.

Whisper-Close is Bemis's slow-close hinge, which lowers the seat gently instead of letting it slam, and Sta-Tite (Stay-Tite) locks the mounting bolts so they can't back out with use. Easy-Clean lets you lift the seat off for cleaning, and Precision Fit, on some models, adjusts the seat front to back to fit the bowl. Each title names the features that seat has.

Measure from the center of the two bolt holes at the back of the bowl to the front edge of the rim: about 16.5 in. means a round bowl and about 18.5 in. an elongated one. The shape comes from the bowl, so a round seat won't fit an elongated toilet, or the other way around. Most residential toilets also have the seat bolt holes 5.5 in. apart, so check yours before you order.
